It's gonna be a good night at Bambi's cause you can see the outline of the bodies from the window, and when we get in the wall hooks are overflowing with coats. A low attendance Bambis can still hit but not as hard as a full house, when you have to yell your drink order. I'm wearing this tiny cream-coloured cashmere henley and wide leg denim trousers from James Perse.
Everything on me costs $900 and I feel like $900 too, but getting in for 5$ makes me feel more expensive (thanks Z, our little door angel!). The beats are sexy and sophisticated, very hold-my-drink-high-in-the-air, wear my purse on the dancefloor, early 2000's to mid-2010's hip house and nu-disco vibes.
My favourite bartender, L, helps me curate this vision by pouring a mighty fine gin and tonic (no cheaping, she fills it to the top). She's the perfect person to chat with between songs, actually has life updates to share and can provide a quick worded review of the past DJ's to grace the booth. Yanno, another great thing about Bambi's is that it's easy to make friends. R, my boyfriend Z and I break out onto the dancefloor and befriend a Montrealaise within the first 40 minutes (we'll be staying on their couch when we visit in May). Music Highlights: ‘It's Emotions’ by Tempo O'Neil, ‘When Will We Leave (Robert Hood Remix)’ by Turner, ‘Lonely C’ by Soul Clap and Charles Levine.
